SUMMER SHOW TUNES DESCRIPTION – Ages 7 to 11
Kids celebrate Disney songs and acting scenes as part of Summer Show Tunes 2011 sponsored by Dallas Summer Musicals Academy of Performing Arts. Students will concentrate on Broadway-style dance training, singing skills and acting with two instructors – a DSM Academy choreographer/stage director and music director/vocal coach. The Disney Dazzle medley was created by Disney and features the most well-known songs from The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin such as Be Our Guest, Belle, Arabian Nights, Kiss the Girl, Part of Your World, A Whole New World, Beauty and the Beast, Fathoms Below, Under the Sea and Friend Like Me. Every student shines when this revue is performed with other DSM musical theatre camps at The Hall of State Theatre in Fair Park on July 30th at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. The show is free and open to the public. Most costumes and props will be supplied by DSM Academy and some may be borrowed from home. This July let the kids go beyond the traditional summer day camp by learning skills that belong in the spotlight!
