OUR FALL/WINTER STUDENT SHOW
In this award winning musical, students enter the world of make-believe, a place where toys learn to be good toys… at "Toy Camp." Hip Cats, cool Puppy Dogs, Teddy Bears, Princesses and Ballerinas along with many others come to Toy Camp to hopefully earn the right to be owned by girls and boys. Not graduating from Toy Camp means certain doom at the Toy Dump! This light-hearted show is full of a variety of toe tapping and heartwarming songs. Toy Camp won the Shubert Fendrich Memorial Playwriting Contest.The material will challenge students from ages 7 to 11 with singing, acting and dancing. Classes are taught by a choreographer, music director and stage director from Dallas Summer Musicals Academy of Performing Arts. Classes are Monday evenings from 5:15 – 7:15 with some evenings going until 8:00 pm or additional times added. Classes begin Monday, September 20 , 2010 and end with holiday performances on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at The Hall of State Theatre in Dallas. Show times are 9:30 and 11:30 am. There is no class Thanksgiving week. Enroll in person at the Town North YMCA.

CLASS DESCRIPTION – MUSICAL THEATRE (Ages 7 – 12)
TOY CAMP
This high energy class includes singing, acting and Broadway style dancing for beginners to more experienced students. The class is team taught by three instructors from Dallas Summer Musicals Academy – a Choreographer, a Music Director/Vocal Coach and a Stage Director/Acting Coach. Performances of Toy Camp are on December 11, 2010 at The Hall of State Theatre in Fair Park. Show times are 9:30 & 11:30 am. Each enrollment includes 6 complimentary tickets for either show. Additional seats are $5 each and all proceeds benefit the students of the musical theatre program. Join us for some Broadway style dancing, singing and acting, not to forget a whole lot of fun!
